I bought this a few months ago and it has held up quite well. I did not use it as a table runner, and couldnt really imagine doing so. Maybe if you have a huge table where the middle section does not interfere in anyway with dishes, glasses, etc, so it becomes an extended trivet. It is thick and high, and not a stable surface for lightweight things. I did, however, use it as a wooden bench pad, and it has proved a brilliant solution. My only complaint is that my dog loves to chew the individual balls off. Was not expecting this to be a chew toy. Hopefully your dogs wont find it so tempting.

I didn't know I could love a rug this much....it is so unique and grounds the room so beautifully. Very high quality construction and as the title of the review suggests, it's like walking on a field of felt marshmallows!

I ordered this rug and received a delivery date confirmation, took off work to be home when it arrived. They change the date of arrival last minute, so I rearranged my day off. When the rug arrived it was clearly used and the packaging was destroyed, the rug looked like it had been dragged down the street. I refused the delivery, its a 7 heavy rug and I live on a 4th floor walk up. I immediately contacted customer service to let them know I refused the order because the rug was damaged and very dirty (looked used with hairs and random dirt on the rug underneath the packaging that wasnt damaged). I provided pictures. I was told by customer service that I shouldnt have refused the delivery, instead kept it, carry it up 4 flights and schedule a pick up (requiring taking another day off work). I was told I would not receive a refund until it arrived in their warehouse in North Carolina. $799 dollars. Buy your rug somewhere else. There was a sticker on the packaging for another address, too. Like it was sent to someone else before me and used and returned or refused by them for the same damage.

I love my felt ball rug. It has so many wool balls and the texture is stunning.
