Return Policy

At AreaRugs.com, we stand behind every product we sell. If, for any reason you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you may return it within 30 days and we will exchange it or refund the purchase price, whichever you prefer. Personalized and custom-made items are, regretfully, non-returnable, unless there is damage or a defect in which case we will happily provide a replacement of the item you ordered. To return an item you first need a RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER. Please do not send items without this, as they will be refused at the warehouse and sent back to the shipper. Please follow the instructions below to expedite your return.

Return Instructions

To initiate a return, please send us an e-mail at sales@arearugs.com and request a Return Authorization Number. Please include your order number and the reason for the return.

Within 1-2 days of the request, we will send you an e-mail with the Return Authorization Number and Shipping Address. You may use whichever carrier you prefer (USPS, UPS, FedEx) to ship the rug back, but we recommend that once you ship the item, you keep record of the tracking number of the shipment for reference.

Once the rug is received in the warehouse and restocked, we will process the return and refund your account for the full purchase price. Please allow 3-5 days for restocking and processing.

Exchange Instructions

To initiate an exchange, you may first place the order for the exchange item. After your order is placed, send us an e-mail at sales@arearugs.com and request a Return Shipping Label and Pickup Itinerary. Please include your order number and note the exchange.

Within 1-2 days of the request, we will send you an e-mail with an attached UPS Shipping label as well as date and time that your to-be returned rug will be picked up.

Once the rug is received in the warehouse and restocked, we will process the return and refund your account for the full purchase price. Please allow 3-5 days for restocking and processing.

For Defective Items

To return a defective item, simply send us an e-mail at sales@arearugs.com and request a Defect Call Tag. Please include a photo of the defective item. Within 1-2 days we will send you an e-mail with a shipping label along with a date and time that the rug will be picked up.

Once you request the defect call tag; we can either immediately ship out a new item or refund your purchase, whichever you prefer.

Samples

At AreaRugs.com, we understand that it may be difficult to purchase home décor products online, and we like to do all that we can to find you a product that works with your space and is the quality you desire.

In order to get an idea of the color and construction of a rug, we recommend ordering the rug in a sample size (2’x3’ or 3’x5’). These items are fully returnable, and shipping for smaller items is only between $10-$15. Also, if you choose to order the larger size of the sample you have ordered, we will cover the return shipping for the sample.
