From their humble beginning in North Carolina over 90 years ago, Capel has become one of the largest and oldest rug importers and manufacturers. Still creating rugs in Troy, North Carolina, Capel continues to dye, spin, braid and sew rugs in their hometown and continues to operate with Capel family members at the helm.
Their original expansion came as the demand for their original braided rugs grew, and Capel began importing quality rugs from a diverse selection of quality makers throughout the world. All were required to meet the high standards of the Capel family.
Leon Capel started his operation nearly a century ago to provide rugs that would withstand the test of time. Having just celebrated 91 years in business, Capel rugs have obviously achieved that goal, and will continue to offer quality for years to come.
